**Description**
**Job Purpose**
The Beautiful and Brand New AC Hotel Greenville Downtown is seeking a dedicated and creative Pastry Cook. The purpose of the Pastry Cook is preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces and special request items.
**Essential Job Functions**
* Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
* Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements
* Meet with the Executive Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance.
* Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies
* Check production schedule and par
* Establish priority items for the day
* Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to Brand/Auro Hotels departmental standards.
* Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
* Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
* Come up with recipe ideas from scratch
* Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
* Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
* Oversee a team of junior pastry cooks and other staff members as necessary
* Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
* Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
* Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.
* Demonstrates adequate pastry skills and operations
* Be able to plan and prepare for restaurant, catering and special events
**Experience/Education**
1?2 years experience as a Prep Cook (Cook III) or a Cook II, preferably in an outlet of similar size and nature. College degree preferred; High School Diploma and/or 2?3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
