The Role:
The Senior Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records and is responsible for understanding related accounting concepts, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and working with other accountants in a team-based environment. This position will support the Company's revenue and billing processes. This position will have a high level of visibility into the business and interaction with other business units in the company. The Senior Accountant should be detail-oriented, have a passion for efficiency and process improvement, while taking ownership of the organization's determination and reporting of revenues.
The Responsibilities:Support of the revenue recognition process including contract review and analysisEnsuring compliance with billing arrangements in accordance with contractual terms and business practices.Working closely with the Company's data and delivery teams to support the billing and revenue recognition functions.Use of Sage Intacct and NetSuite to perform daily functions, including transaction research and support of internal and external reporting processes.Audit, process and post weekly and monthly journal entries for various GL accountsReconcile Balance Sheet and P&L Accounts, including researching variances, and maintaining supporting schedules and sub-ledgersPreparation and review of account reconciliations for related areasMaintain good standing relationships with customers and internal business units' partnersCross-train and provide backup with other team membersProcess improvementsSupport of ERP implementation and other special projects as needed.
The Desired Attributes:Bachelor's Degree in accounting and/or Finance requiredMinimum 5+ Years of Accounting experience requiredCPA highly preferredPublic Accounting experience and ASC 606 revenue recognition requiredThorough knowledge of accounting procedures including month-end closing process, journal entry review, reconciliations, financial reports and variances analysisProficient with Microsoft ExcelDetail oriented, professional attitude, reliable, strong organization and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong work ethic and ability to cultivate working relationships with customers and others throughout the organizationWillingness to learn new skills and take on new tasksExperience in Sage Intacct and/or NetSuite preferred
