Overview:

The Clinical Supervisor will oversee, coordinate, and manage the clinical practice and case management of DCF contracted community-based residential programs. They will be responsible for supervising the performance of program clinicians, case management staff in assigned programs, and serving as a liaison between the agency and external entities. The Clinical Supervisor will have a deep understanding of the clinical specialty area of each program and ensure that services are delivered in compliance with best practice standards, contractual and regulatory requirements, performance specifications, agency policies, procedures, and regulations. They will ensure that their supervisees provide high-quality psychotherapeutic clinical care, attend to risk issues, maintain accurate and timely documentation, demonstrate professionalism, meet productivity standards, and address administrative issues related to providing clinical care. Additionally, the Clinical Supervisor will also provide direct services to clients at an established productivity level proportionate to their other responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct supervision to assigned clinical supervisees at least once weekly.
Support the intake and referral process for all assigned programs in regard to appropriateness and responsivity.
Support in the hiring process of clinical and potential non-clinical team members, as well as internship opportunities for prospective clinical interns.
Oversee, coordinate, and manage the clinical practice and case management of identified program clinicians to monitor all data and reports related to documentation, licensure, quality management, and other relevant information per regulatory and licensing entities. As well as assist with the programmatic role of ensuring quality, timely documentation, and regular review of clinical charts via agency EHR.
As appropriate, the Clinical Supervisor will provide direct clinical care to youth as part of their residential placement. Services may include but are not limited to: assessment and treatment planning, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, clinical consultation, clinical case management, discharge planning, and aftercare/follow-up.
The Clinical Supervisor will contribute in other ways to programmatic functions, such as providing training and support to direct care staff, conducting additional clinical groups for program residents, and reviewing records to ensure best practices in documentation.
The Clinical Supervisor may also provide clinical supervision to other direct care staff, involving teaching, supervising, coaching, supporting, mentoring, evaluating, monitoring, motivating, and inspiring supervisees to provide the highest clinical care to clients and their families.
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision hours credited toward supervisees' required licensure hours.
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supporting mid-year performance reviews, annual performance evaluations, and addressing and monitoring areas of performance improvement and/or progressive discipline as needed for assigned supervisees.
Work to ensure supervisees meet productivity/caseload expectations per regulatory contracts and licensure regulations.
The Clinical Supervisor may also serve as an adjunct member of the sites leadership team, providing support to program management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of program expectations, practices, and goals working collaboratively with program leadership and members of the operational leadership team.
The Clinical Supervisor recognizes that in their role, there is a shared responsibility for the clinical team, direct client care, case management, program management, and agency policies and procedures. The Clinical Supervisor thus recognizes the importance of promptly communicating and collaborating with their supervisor/director regarding issues of risk to clients and staff, ethics, conflict of interest, and any issues that could impact the collaborative relationship with community partners/stakeholders.
Ensure that any issues or concerns related to risk (client risk, staff risk, facility risk, and/or programmatic risk) or ethical misconduct are immediately reported to the AVP of Clinical Operations and/or Senior AVP of Residential Operations.
Maintain agency standards, policies, and procedures to comply with all funding, licensure, and regulatory requirements of the program. This involves ensuring that supervisees are trained, supported, and able to maintain licensure, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Demonstrate strong knowledge of child/youth and family psychotherapeutic clinical care and support, as well as mental health, educational, child development, child welfare, community outreach, and juvenile justice systems. Demonstrated knowledge and competency with direct psychotherapeutic clinical care, including risk assessment, safety planning, general comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, service delivery, and discharge/after-care planning.
Ability to ensure that clinical care meets medical necessity and that service delivery meets all compliance standards.
Knowledge of program specifications (COA, DCF, and EEC), regulatory requirements, licensing requirements, credentialing requirements, HIPAA, and other laws and regulations related to clinical care.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, timeliness, reliability, problem-solving, and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
Requires minimum of Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
Requires independent clinical licensure in MA License must be clear and active.
Minimum of two years clinical experience in residential, behavioral health setting, preferably working with child, adolescent, and family services.
Requires familiarity with use of an electronic health record.
Proof of a valid drivers license, acceptable driving record, and reliable personal transportation to fulfill essential job functions.
