We are seeking a dynamic and organized Event Coordinator to join our team to help plan and execute a wide range of community programs. If you're passionate about event management and enjoy working with vendors and community partners, this role is for you We offer a supportive work environment, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a tangible impact through our programming and events.Job Summary:The Event Coordinator plays a key role in planning and executing a variety of events, ensuring they run smoothly from start to finish. This part-time position involves managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, and working closely with community partners to deliver successful events. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, and skilled at building strong relationships with both vendors and partners, while ensuring all logistical details are handled effectively.Key Responsibilities:Embraces the City's core values of Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Accountability, Leadership, and Superior Service.Coordinate, direct, and implement event programming.Manage event budgets, securing vendors and materials within financial constraints.Build and maintain relationships with event vendors.Create marketing campaigns and materials, such as fliers, brochures, and digital promotions.Collaborate with community partners to enhance event offerings.Identify and secure a variety of vendors for event services.Ensure required staff, materials, and other resources are in place for event execution.Ensure efficient use of recreation funds for programming and events.Evaluate events and activities to identify areas for improvement.Maintain accounting records for programs, events, and activities.Support all recreational programs and events as needed.Perform additional related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.At least three years of event planning experience preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and other relevant software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational and coordination skills.Ability to develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.Experience in marketing and promotional material development is a plus.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.Occasional squatting, bending, and lifting during event setup.The City of Newberry is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
