SBS bus drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school related events, such as sports and arts activities. SCHEDULE OF ROLE. The schedule for this role will be dependent on extracurricular schedules. Typically 10-20 hours per week. CANDIDATE SUMMARY. We seek the following in qualified candidates: A strong Christian testimony and a calling to serve as a positive Christian role model to our students A heart to provide exceptional customer service to all members of the community A desire to lead and support all school-wide initiatives Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in technology and strong organizational and multi-tasking skills A responsible steward of the school’s resources A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following: Transport students in a safe and timely manner to and from school activities while following safety procedures and applicable regulations Operate and safely drive a school bus in both good and adverse weather and road/traffic conditions while transporting passengers to events Comply with traffic regulations while operating vehicles in a safe and courteous manner Communicate bus rules, safety and behavior requirements to passengers and address improper behavior immediately while using appropriate interpersonal communication skills Communicate with student’s parents to solve inappropriate or unsafe behavior, utilizing interpersonal communication skills Assist students and passengers in boarding and unloading the bus when necessary KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED.
