Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular contact with clients throughout the year, fostering strong client relationships and possessing thorough knowledge of their business and control systems.
  • Assume the role of engagement partner or report directly to the engagement partner in accordance with firm policies.
  • Sign attest opinions as a representative of the firm when assigned the role of engagement partner.
  • Oversee all phases of audit, review, or accounting engagements, ensuring client deliverables comply with applicable accounting frameworks and firm policies.
  • Inform the engagement Partner of important developments on client accounts, identifying and implementing solutions after partner consultation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in necessary technical skills to advise clients effectively.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of engagements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in discipline or industry, focusing on not-for-profit, unions, and benefit plans.
  • Supervise staff assigned to engagements, providing on-the-job training and reviewing work papers and reports.
  • Play a key role in staff performance evaluations, reviews, and counseling.
  • Participate in the recruitment of staff and conduct interviews for Assurance and Advisory candidates as needed.
  • Represent the firm in business development matters, developing a network of contacts and referrals to generate business.
  • Lead prospective client leads, responsible for initial communications, generating fee estimates, and attending meetings.
  • Maintain a firm-first, one-firm, united philosophy.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the partner group.
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior manager position.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Current and valid CPA license.
  • Ability to travel to client locations as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
  • Proven project management and time management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States, United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards.
  • Ability to direct, review, and train departmental staff.
  • Willingness to travel for work at clients' offices, meetings, and seminars, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime throughout the year, with heavy overtime required from January 1 to May 15, potentially exceeding 55 hours per week.
