Job Description:
  • PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide Hand Therapy services to patients throughout the lifespan, who have impairments and functional limitations, disabilities or changes in their physical functioning resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Upon referral from a physician, the hand therapist interacts and practices in collaboration with other healthcare professionals providing services to prevent disability and impairment and to promote health and wellness.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Integrates all elements of patient management (evaluation, intervention plan,
reevaluation and discharge/follow up) in a manner to maximize outcomes
  • Performs accurate and timely documentation and billing.
  • Consistently meets department productivity standards, while providing care that
maximizes patient outcomes.
  • Delegates appropriately to supportive personnel
Job Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science, Masters or Doctorate Degree or Certificate of

Occupational Therapy from an accredited program in Occupational

Therapy and Certification or eligible for AOTA Certification Exam

Required

B. Experience: Current Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania as an Occupational

Therapist

Certified Hand therapist preferred.

Clinical experience of 2 years minimum with one year as hand therapist.

Experience in splinting a must.

C. Other Skills : Must possess the ability to work independently and in a team.

Must possess the ability to problem solve, demonstrate good judgment

and make good decisions.

Active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and

the American Hand Therapy Society is desirable.

Certified in CPR/BLS.
