JOB DESCRIPTIONPlant Controller is Responsible for all accounting functions at the plant. Compiles statistics through complete accurate records of all financial transactions. Analyzes the transactions of all departments to ascertain the financial position of the plant. Supervises and directs all accounting personnel.Fixed Assets/Project AccountingPlant Controller will plan and monitor capital expenditureSummarize capital expenditure plan for plant > ( Preparation & Authorization )Monitor capital expenditures against CAR and or plan and or Internal Order for plantDecide on capitalization of assets and settlement of CIPInteract with program controller & CBUs for plant to create correct inputProvide information to BBC for write-offs, retirements, valuation and work-in-progress accountsVerify fixed assets inventory and request adjustmentsGeneral AccountingPlant Controller will Review and validate monthly, quarterly and yearly closeAdjust balance sheet accounts for accruals and prepare additional journal entriesReview and approve all journal entriesAdjust balance sheet accounts for accrualsAllocation methodologiesProvide appropriate documentation for reconciliation purposesProvide information about inter- and intra-company discrepancies to BBC if requiredPrepare trial balance reports. Validate final Trial balanceManagement ReportingPlant Controller will Prepare and evaluate variance analysisPrepare variance analyses comparing actual results to budget / forecastAnalyze business performance by Plant/ PlatformPrepare financial support for capital appropriation requests for plantDevelop and distribute management reports for local managementCost Accounting/Inventory AccountingPerform inventory accountingPlant Controller will Develop and monitor inventory accounting work instructions for materials and supply at plant level based on CFS instructionsPrepare and review annual variable and fixed cost allocation (For Machine Rates)Work with Commercial team for cost recoveryFinance/ConsolidationAccount for all inventory movementsReconcile after physical inventoryValue in inventoryFull P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow analysisPrepare and distribute financial informationBudgeting & ForecastingPrepare, develop and review financial budget and forecast (Monthly & Annual)Develop financial planning and budgeting work instructions at plant levelWork together with CBUs and Operations to receive and verify budgeting assumptionsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.5+ Years working experience in an Accounting or Finance position inside Manufacturing, automotive industry preferred. Fluent in MS Office applications, advanced in MS Excel. Experience with SAP and Hyperion applications preferred.Familiarity with Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations; ability to work under deadlines.Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings by verbal and presentation formatPRIMARY LOCATIONBattle Creek Seating Component
