How You'll Perform the Role- Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
- Keep work area clean and organized, per standards.
- Follow all applicable food service policies and procedures.
- Follow all PPE policies, wearing steel toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required.
- Safely execute daily job activities including, but not limited to, 1) complete pre-shift truck inspections, 2) perform lockout/tagout for baler equipment, 3) follow confined space procedure for entering baler pit area.
- Travel from machine to machine, taking finished product and stacking it on pallets in correct pattern.
- Put bags through shrink tunnel, if necessary, and stack off at the other end.
- Change plastic rolls for shrink tunnel.
- Glue labels to boxes.
- Pull carts from paper production area and bring to baler. Weigh all waste per procedure.
- Properly sort waste into proper waste streams.
- Report exceptions to waste reduction efforts to Shift Supervisor.
- Empty all trash bins throughout shift as necessary.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Clean warehouse per schedule.
- Drive forklift daily as needed.
- Complete daily waste reports.
- Deliver ink to presses, reading schedule, getting ink out of barrels or off shelves, and stocking machines per schedule.
- Return inks to shelves from floor.
- Stock shelves with ink.
- Clean parts off all production machines.
- Load barrel truck with empty barrels.
- Assist in-house Ink Technician as needed.
- Take out water waste.
- Handle general clean-up in Ink room.
- Retrieve ink barrels and line them up.
- Sweep floors as needed or directed by Supervisor.
- Maintain equipment, drawing problems to the attention of the proper individual.
- Ensure product count is correct on skid.
- Maintain and perform daily preventative maintenance on boiler
- Ensure permit is obtained prior to entering confined spaces, such as paste tank and boiler
- Measure out needed ingredients and mix together in a large tank
- Add water to the mixture as necessary
- Pour into agitating tank
- Start agitator, by pushing button
- Set tank to cook
- Transfer to large holding tank
- Keep tanks clean
- Adjust pressure of paste
- Gather waste paste and glue from production floor using fork truck
- Changing Strapper Banding
- Changing out Heat Shrink Film
- Changing out Labels/Printer Film
- Changing out Stretch Film
- Changing out Slip Sheets ?
- Changing out Vacuum Filter
- Basic Start/Stop Function of System
- Remedying any minor issues Strapper/Shrink Tunnel/Labeler/Robot/Stretch Wrapper
- Removed accumulated debris within caged area.
- Meet/achieve production goals set forth by management.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma, GED, or applicable work experience
- This is an entry level position
- Must have basic PC knowledge.
- Will need to use hammers and socket wrenches.
- Must be able to operate forklift, attachments, and hoists.
- Must have basic reading, math and communication skills.
