What You’ll Do

The Property Management Intern will have an integral role in assisting the property manager in their oversight of building staff and maintenance operations at properties undergoing major capital improvements. They will gain knowledge and experience collaborating with colleagues, residents, contractors, vendors and investors as we undergo façade restoration projects, tenant-in-place renovations and various unit and common area renovations as well.
L+M offers a comprehensive intern program. During the ten-week program, interns will gain exposure to the jobsite, means and methods of construction, tour several jobsites, attend a lunch with company leaders, and make a presentation on lessons learned to senior management. Specific duties will vary depending on the team but include tasks similar to these:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists the Property Management Team with all aspects of operational procedures.
Assist Property Manager with punch list of units undergoing renovation/upgrades and unit turns
Work with PM/APM on HQS inspections/repairs and court-ordered repairs
Follow up on open work orders
Coordinate access with both residents and contractors
Distribute tenant bulletins via property management software
Monitor equipment repairs and status updates and report to appropriate parties
Assists PM with all active and aged (HDP, DOB, ECB) violations including follow up with third-party violation company and updating SiteCompli.
Works alongside the PM and actively engage the Legal Team to track/monitor and cure any/all HP actions and/or litigation imposed by city agencies surrounding maintenance issues.
Supports, tracks, and assists both the site team(s) and PM on agency-specific regularly inspections (i.e. REAC, MOR, API, etc.)
Works out of various regional site-offices and responds to issues on behalf of PM
