Job Description

The Allocation Analyst will manage the store-level inventory management through optimal allocation strategies and localized assortment recommendations. The Assistant Planner will work closely with the Planner to achieve sales, profit, and inventory productivity objectives for merchandise categories, working in conjunction with the buying team. The Assistant Planner will support Planner and Buying team with development and successful execution of topside financial plans, assortment and buy plans. Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with buyers and planners to develop and communicate a comprehensive assortment planning and allocation strategy that aligns financial and product goals by department/class
  • Manage the "pre-receiving" review of styles to ensure allocations to the stores are in line with the assortment and allocation plan
  • Support creation of clustering by class and/or product category for assortment planning and allocation purposes
  • Analyze store attributes to understand specific market/store needs utilizing data to drive market segment purchases and allocations
  • Review inventory levels and store rankings by department/sub-department/class, and develop strategies to optimize inventory with new receipts and replenishment
  • Perform in-season and post-season analysis to identify future opportunities
  • Participate in decisions regarding minimum buys, packing guidelines and allocation maximums of SKUs
  • Build and manage New Store opening assortments based on sales and inventory targets
  • Manage and allocate PO receipts and inventory flow through the DC to the stores to maximize DC productivity
  • Own the operational functions and execution of replenishment
  • Participate in local store visits to monitor the impact of allocations and gain field feedback
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices, and develop systems knowledge
  • Develop and foster effective working relationships with members of cross-functional team
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and additional responsibilities as required
  • Support the successful implementation of new systems and processes


Qualifications and Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exhibits strong trend and pattern recognition skills
  • Ability to present data and influence discussion
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities

  • Understand the value of being proactive and solution-oriented
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
