As we continue to expand, we are seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as LTL Pick-up and Delivery Drivers.Position Overview:A freight operations manager is responsible for overseeing the transportation and delivery of goods from a warehouse or distribution center to customers. They coordinate the logistics, planning, and execution of freight operations, ensuring that the shipments are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. They also manage the staff, equipment, and inventory of the freight operations department, and liaise with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Operational Responsibilities:1. Fleet Management: •Overseeing the maintenance and utilization of trucks. •Ensuring vehicles comply with safety regulations and standards.2. Route Optimization: •Planning and optimizing delivery routes to minimize fuel consumption and travel time. •Coordinating with dispatchers to adjust routes as needed.3. Load Planning: •Managing the consolidation of shipments to maximize trailer space and efficiency. •Ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage.4. Safety Compliance: •Ensuring all operations adhere to federal and state transportation regulations. •Implementing safety protocols and training for drivers and staff.5. Logistics Coordination: •Coordinating pick-up and delivery schedules with customers and other stakeholders. •Managing warehouse operations and inventory control when applicable.Managerial Responsibilities:1. Team Supervision: •Hiring, training, and supervising drivers, dispatchers, and other operational staff. •Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback.2. Customer Service: •Addressing customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues promptly. •Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.3. Budget Management: •Developing and managing the operational budget. •Monitoring expenses and finding ways to reduce costs without compromising service quality.4. Performance Monitoring: •Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and accident rates. •Implementing improvement initiatives based on performance data.Strategic Responsibilities:1. Process Improvement: •Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. •Staying updated with industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate best practices.2. Vendor Management: •Negotiating contracts and managing relationships with suppliers, maintenance providers, and other third-party service providers.3. Risk Management: •Assessing and mitigating risks related to operations, such as accidents, legal compliance, and environmental impact.4.
