SUMMARY

LHH is looking for an Assistant Controller to join a mid-sized, privately held company. The Assistant Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting, providing accounting support and guidance for business transactions, driving the timely completion of companys monthly close process and reporting requirements. The Assistant Controller will work along side the Controller and act as a business partner for key stakeholders, with a focus on driving process improvements, resolving business challenges, and providing operational analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain, examine, and analyze financial records and transactions in accordance with accounting principles and business procedures.
  • Integral role in the month-end close process. Including but not limited to analysis, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
  • Collect and compile necessary financial and economic data to perform meaningful analysis for strategic business decisions.
  • Assists in the development of forecasts and budgets.
  • Accurate and timely completion of and response to corporate tax, finance and accounting as well as external auditors' requests and inquiries.
  • Prepares and generates various scheduled and special reports and participates in special projects relating to the activities of the accounting department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors (or advanced) Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum three to five years of professional accounting experience, with preference given to experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office with advanced experience in Excel
  • Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Possess strong analytical skills and comprehension and the ability to communicate the results of the analysis performed
  • Able to work both collaboratively with a team and in an individual environment
  • Able to manage and complete multiple tasks
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure, while maintaining organization and attention to detail
