Job Overview BJCs nursing team is looking for dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department, Cardiac Operating Room, and Cardiac Stress Lab teams in the Greater St. Louis area. These roles focus on providing high?quality patient care, advancing our RN Career Ladder, and supporting continuous improvement and quality initiatives. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with nursing care standards. Promote patient? and family?centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on illness or injury management, home?care needs, and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals, collaborating with the interprofessional team. Communicate plan of care across the continuum of care, including critical adult, pediatric, and burn patient transitions. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involving patients in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population?specific needs. Ensure constant state of alertness and safe practice as a safety?sensitive position. Maintain safety and infection?control protocols for dialysis machines, vascular access, and patient treatment areas. Document vital signs, treatment parameters, and patient responses on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and progress notes. Participate in professional development and the BJC RN Career Ladder program to advance to higher ladder levels. Support continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities and maintain accurate treatment data in the clinical application. Assist in training of direct patient?care staff under RN supervision. Adopt and uphold BJCs values, customer?service standards, and organizational policies. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma, Associates, or Bachelors degree in Nursing (preferred). Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience: No prior experience required for entry?level; experience in emergency, cardiac, or dialysis settings preferred. Specialty: Cardiac OR experience strongly preferred; experience in Cardiac Stress Lab also advantageous. Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and the ability to work safely in high?pressure environments. Other: Ability to work nights and/ or PRN shifts, proficiency with dialysis equipment, and knowledge of safety and infection?control procedures.
