Description

Mission & Purpose: To assist school administration in providing quality Christian education and helping in the smooth and efficient operation of Northshore Christian Academy.

Job share position: 14-20 hours per week (School Calendar, Sept. 2024 - June 2025)

Receptionist/Office Assistant Duties
  • Answer phones, take reliable messages and route calls to appropriate staff, provide information and customer service to church members and academy families.
  • Maintain front desk with supplies, paper, and current information (sports, events, etc.)
  • Assist with school communication - both oral and written
  • Screen visitors; ensure visitors comply with the school gate guardian procedures
  • Volunteer scheduling and background checks.
  • Keep updated on "High Risk" situations.
  • Manage main phone message system during inclement weather.
  • Student Beverage Orders processed quarterly and as needed and posted in lunchroom
  • Office Events- assist other staff with tasks
    • August Back to School Social
    • PTF appreciation lunch assistance
    • Christmas Party
    • Cards for staff birthdays, new baby cards, weddings, sympathy cards
  • Typing/Copying/Maintain filing system/and appointment calendars/keep bulletin board updated
  • Manage the sign in/out books at the front desk
  • Monthly Teacher Calendar
  • Data entry for School Age Care
Other Duties
  • Duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications

Front Desk Receptionist shall be hired by the school administration after careful consideration of personal character, spiritual leadership, professional training and experience realizing that they are a role-model of Christ-likeness to all students. The receptionist shall adhere to the standards and conditions of the Northshore Christian Academy Personnel Manual and Faculty Handbook and desire to abide by the requirements within.
  • Active Christian attending an Evangelical church
  • Profession of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Previous experience and/or training in an office support position. School office experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of using advanced skills in computer programs to produce newsletters and handbooks. (Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • Willingness to perform duties upon the request of supervisor.
  • Ability to follow directions and follow through on assigned tasks, to completion, in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions from visitors, students, parents and staff in a calm and composed manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with students, parents, staff, and church personnel.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to quickly adapt to new and changing priorities.
  • Willingness to learn and seek new knowledge and skills to improve effectiveness.
  • Seek knowledge of schoolwide and churchwide programs.
  • Ability to move about the school building(s) and campuses.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must be able to move about the campus and buildings; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit or reach with hands and arms.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
