**Birdies Cafe & Oyster Bar is Seeking Baristas**
Birdies Coffee and Oyster Bar is preparing to have their Grand Opening and seeking passionate BARISTAS to join our team. As a barista you are an integral component of our company. Our high standard of service and quality begin with you, the barista, and your interactions with our guests. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates.
A little bit about our barista position:
Responsibilities
* Consistently and expediently prepare and serve a range of espresso drinks, pour overs, tea, cold brew, and other specialty beverages
* Dialing in the espresso machine
* Refining Latte Art techniques
* Point of Sale operation and accepting payments
* Capable of multitasking
* Customer Service creating a welcoming and one of a kind experience
* Ability to communicate professionally with customers as well as coworkers.
* Be knowledgeable about our coffee, food , and other items on the menu
* Keep a clean and inviting store environment for customers as well as all other team members
* Work a flexible schedule based on store and company needs
Qualifications
* 3m Barista experience preparing specialty coffee
* Serving experience a plus
* Capable of lifting 50lbs
* Must be available to work weekends (closed Sundays) and some Holidays
Full and part time positions are available.
Birdies Coffee and Oyster Bar:
Birdie's is a caf and oyster bar, located on the ground floor of Common House, a modern social club based in Richmond's Arts District. The full-service caf offers specialty coffees and house made pastries. By late afternoon, the space transforms to an oyster bar, showcasing east coast oysters, lobster rolls, and a world class wine list. Birdie's is open to everyone and functions independently of Common House, but will share team members and logistics.
