1st And 2nd Shift Welder Opening We are seeking skilled welders to perform fluxcore MIG welding on components for the fabrication of steel bridges up to 1/2" thick. You will work from blueprints to execute full layouts and fabricate structures associated with these layouts. While welding is a key part of this role, you will also operate various equipment such as overhead and jib cranes, band saws, drill presses, stud welders, and grinders. This position involves moving around the shop and working in varying positions, sometimes in awkward locations. Responsibilities Perform fluxcore MIG welding on steel bridge components. Read and interpret blueprints for layout and fabrication tasks. Operate overhead and jib cranes, band saws, drill presses, stud welders, and grinders. Move around the shop to fabricate and weld bridges, including crawling under materials. Potentially take on a lead welder role, guiding and supervising other welders. Essential Skills Strong structural welding experience. Experience with MIG and flux core welding. Ability to perform vertical and wire feed welding. Proficiency in reading and working from blueprints. Capability to lift 50 lbs and perform tasks that require kneeling, stooping, and crawling. Additional Skills & Qualifications Potential to advance to a lead welder position. Ability to work independently and determine tasks without direct supervision. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks. Experience with flux core welding on structural steel is a plus. Work Environment Work in a small-sized structural fabrication shop that can be messy and lacks air conditioning. The position offers both 1st shift (5:30 am to 4:00 pm) and 2nd shift (4:00 pm to 2:30 am) options, with two 15-minute breaks and a half-hour unpaid lunch. Job Type & Location This is a contract to hire position based out of Savage, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
