deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a System Engineer in Huntsville, AL.Position Description:The successful candidate will work closely with the Ground Based Midcourse (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) Network Infrastructure (GNI) Software Factory (SWF) team to ensure that various cloud infrastructure platforms are developed and operational. A strong systems administration background is a plus.Responsibilities Include:Working with a team of DevSecOps Engineers to develop and maintain a software cloud virtualization stack with Microsoft AzureAttending daily agile scrum meetingsWorking independently on software stories that include application development, software development, vendor calls with Microsoft, and maintaining a PaaS (Platform as a Service)Reporting to the execution lead on the status of JIRA stories, any outstanding blockers, concerns, or dependenciesReporting metrics to the GNI SWF team Reporting metrics to GWS and GNI leadershipWorking in both classified and unclassified software environmentsWillingness to travel to local customer site weeklyWillingness to travel to other local classified labs to perform workEducation Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited universityExperience Requirements:4+ years with Bachelor's degree or 2+ years with Master's degreeAgile/SCRUM knowledgeAtlassian toolset experienceDoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+ CE)Experience and skills in agile software principles, particularly with regard to building a plan or roadmap for multiyear program / productUtilize Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and servicesExperience with or basic knowledge of software development (i.e., Java/JavaScript, C++, C#, or any modern object-oriented language) and its life cyclesInterest and aptitude in developing Infrastructure as code scripts in Terraform and Helm to provision cloud resourcesDeploying and maintaining applications on Kubernetes clusterConfiguring and maintaining DevSecOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline toolsCommunicates effectively, both internally and externally to teamEager to expand knowledge and continually improveSpecial Skills Desired:Strong system administrator experienceExperience working with Microsoft Azure platform in the government spaceApplication development experienceExperience troubleshooting software containers and virtualizationExperience in networking with Cisco technologiesExperience in Information SecurityExperience working with the DoD customer or in a classified software environmentApplicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance .
