Planned Giving Manager

As an integral member of the Stewardship and Planned Giving leadership teams, the Planned Giving Manager will direct and execute both internal administration and external initiatives to support the Planned Giving program broadly.This individual will spearhead department operations, administration and marketing of Planned Giving, and assist the Director of Planned Giving with program initiatives.
In addition to serving as an integral member of Planned Giving, this individual will provide leadership support for the Planned Giving Administrator, the Scholarship & Planned Giving Coordinator, and will engage with the Stewardship & Development's (S&D) Marketing Team to offer the highest level of engagement and service to current and future Planned Giving ministry partners of Moody Bible Institute.
Essential Functions

- Provide leadership direction for internal administration of the following Planned Giving opportunities: Scholarship program, gifts-in-kind, gifts of stock or mutual funds, IRA rollover gifts, bequests (wills, trusts, beneficiary designations, etc.), charitable gift annuities, pooled income fund, life insurance, etc.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support for all Planned Giving departmental events and marketing initiatives
- Provide management guidance to the Planned Giving Administrator, the Scholarship & Planned Giving Coordinator, and any Part-Time department staff including students and/or interns
- Provide internal research as needed and administrative oversight for donation acknowledgements of deferred gifts
- Cultivate best-in-class service and gift planning support to ministry partners who have or intend to have Planned Giving commitments to Moody
- Ensure documentation and maintenance of all Planned Giving departmental business operations, best practices, historical shared data storage and organization
- Support the Director of Planned Giving with program-wide initiatives
- Foster and support effective working relationships with partnering internal departments including Investment Accounting, Tax, Student Financial Services, Investments, Marketing, etc.
- Engage with senior leadership across MBI such as the President, Provost, General Counsel, C.F.O., C.D.O., VP Stewardship, Chief Investment Manager, Education Deans and Radio
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Over three years of Experience in a related field
- Ability to coordinate multiple items/initiatives efficiently and accurately
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and administrative skills
- Able to effectively articulate complex ideas in simple terms
- Ability to be respectful, cheerful, kind, compassionate and caring
- Strong computer/software skills: MS Suite, Adobe, MS Teams, CRM, an aptitude to learn and become proficient on organization-wide systems
- Authorized to work in the US legally, without sponsorship
- A drive to learn, grow and enhance the organization
- A leader willing to envision a new reality, roll up the sleeves and make it happen
- A team player, desiring to lead and invest in colleagues
- Excels in a fast-paced work environment
- Detail oriented, well organized, flexible and tenacious

This is a full-time, exempt position that has typically operated out of our downtown Chicago office, although an optional hybrid and/or remote option may be considered.Work-related travel is expected and should not exceed 15-20% of the time.
