Requirements for this position typically include a bachelor's degree in nursing and a current registered nurse (RN) license. Additionally, psychiatric nurses must have experience in mental health care and a strong understanding of psychotherapeutic and pharmacological treatments. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are also necessary. Job Responsibilities: Gauging patients' psychiatric states. Collaborating on psychiatric intervention plans. Administering psychotropic and similar medications. Monitoring adherence to non-medicinal treatment regimens. Removing potentially harmful and triggering environmental features. Restraining, consoling, and sometimes medicating highly unsettled patients. Recording patients' health journeys and reporting on notable alterations. Conducting targeted psychoeducation, particularly within families. QUALIFICATIONS Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing, where the latter is preferred. Pertinent state licensure. BLS, ACLS, CPI in hand (can obtain onsite within 60 days of start) Familiarity with cultural perceptions about psychiatric difficulties. Well-honed triaging, diagnostic, and clinical judgment capacities. Superb interpersonal and collaboration abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Resilience, immense empathy, and resolution. Requirements: COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills. Participates in relevant continuing education programs. Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients. Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise. A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital. Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
