Job Relationships

Reports to the Director of Facilities.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage cafe workers and issue schedules.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of cafe(s) and support staff in all aspects of cafe operations.
  • Take lead on standing up SC-run cafe services at larger facilities as deemed necessary by Administration.
  • Respond to customer complaints quickly and resolve them effectively.
  • Responsible for stocking and replenishing inventory and cash drawer.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cash handling and reconciling.
  • Regularly inspect cafe and food service areas for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness standards and ensure compliance with Public Health Standards.
  • Work with Director to vet SC locations for vending machine service needs and assist in ongoing discussions for rollout.
  • Work with Project Manager(s) and building leaders to create plan and rollout schedule for vending machine implementation.
  • Work with Contracts team/Purchasing and any other departments necessary for cafe and vending machine contractual and/or operational needs.
  • Maintain effective team member communication to direct reports as well as regular status updates to Director.
  • Regularly visit cafe locations for check-ins, rounding, and delivering supplies.
  • Counsel employees regarding performance, conduct, attendance, and conduct performance reviews, approve payroll.
  • Hold 1:1 and quarterly staff meetings with cafe employees.
  • Maintain an attitude of responsibility and accountability at all times by providing excellence in customer service in all interactions to represent the Springfield Clinic in a professional and positive manner.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High School graduate or GED required with evidence of advanced knowledge and/or accredited course work.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Food Handler's License required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize, communicate and work under high-stress conditions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and accept the need to perform daily responsibilities under occasional conditions of time and performance restrictions.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Square POS system.
  • Ability to present oneself and one's ideas with clarity, confidence, and pride.

Working Environment

  • Operates in fast-paced food service environments.
  • Limited duties in a professional office environment.
  • Requires traveling to various Clinic locations.
