Catering Manager Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified Catering Manager to provide our customers with outstanding service and make sure all their needs are met.

A good job candidate is a person with strong communication skills who knows how to delight customers and make them feel welcome and respected. A positive and friendly attitude is a must, as well as the ability to efficiently and effectively handle potential customer complaints and refunds. A good Catering Manager must ensure that every customer is satisfied and wants to come back again.

A qualified candidate must also work to have excellent product knowledge to ensure the correct amount of food is sold and delivered for the event needs.
Responsibilities of a Catering Manager
  • Builds and maintains relationships with vendors, clients and venues.
  • Negotiates contracts with clients.
  • Monitors compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving.
  • Monitors food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
  • Investigates and resolves complaints regarding food quality or service.
  • Supervises cooking personnel to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.
  • Schedules and receives food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity for event.
  • Plans menus and food utilization based on anticipated number of guests,
  • Keeps records required by government agencies regarding sanitation and food subsidies when appropriate.
  • Tests cooked food to ensure palatability and flavor conformity.
  • Reviews work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety.
  • Records the number, type, and cost of items sold to determine which items are most popular.
  • Food delivery and event set up
Catering Manager Job Requirements:
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Experience as a Catering Manager or similar role is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
