They will play a significant role in driving sales performance, developing and implementing strategies, and providing guidance and support to the team. The ideal candidate will possess a consistent track record of leading and motivating sales teams to achieve targets, market knowledge of clinical laboratory testing needs, and a strong technical background. Experience in solution selling, navigating market segments, and partnering with executives critical for success in this role.What will you do?Lead, handle, and empower a team to achieve sales targets and objectivesDevelop accurate sales forecasts and strategiesNavigate across different market segments, including commercial reference labs and academic clinical labs, to increase sales opportunitiesImplement solution selling techniques to promote and sell assays, instruments, services, and softwareBuild and maintain strong relationships with C-suite level executives, internally and externally, to understand their needs and provide tailored solutionsAdapt management style to individual team members' needs and strengths and effectively connect with and influence key stakeholdersDisplay resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced and challenging sales environmentMake informed decisions based on market insights, sales data, and customer feedbackMentor and support team members to enhance their sales skills and performanceCultivate cross-functional collaboration with other rep types and divisions to ensure alignment and maximize revenue growthHow will you get there?8+ years of proven experience plus a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, Business, etc.) is preferred; or, a combination of an Advanced degree and relevant work experienceProven experience leading, managing, and motivating a sales team in the life sciences or clinical laboratory industry, and coaching abilities to develop and improv the skills of team membersKnowledge of the clinical laboratory testing space; strong technical knowledge of molecular genetic assays, with cytogenetics knowledge considered a plusDemonstrated success in solution selling; specific experience with Miller-Heimann Strategic Selling a plusExperience selling in a declining market and adapting sales strategies accordinglyExecutive presence and situational leadership skills as demonstrated by previous experience working closely with high level executivesHigh degree of emotional intelligenceChange management experience to adapt to evolving market conditions and customer demandsStrong influencing and persuasion skills to drive sales performanceResilience, adaptability, and capacity to thriveExceptional decision-making skills and ability to analyze sales data and market insightsAbility to collaborate cross-functionally and drive revenue growthExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsThermo Fisher Scientific offers employment with an innovative, forward-thinking organization, and outstanding career and development prospects.
