Description A Brief Overview

This position is responsible for setting up specialized anesthesia equipment in and out of the OR and assisting with trouble-shooting all anesthesia equipment even during patient use. Maintains departmental inventory of operating room/work room supplies and equipment.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for setting up and trouble-shooting specialized equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory, managerial functions and PCA pumps
  • Provides age appropriate care to patients and families of 0-Geriatric years
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications

Education

  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of operating room environment helpful. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledgeable of basic mechanical and electrical tools as well as remain knowledgeable of machines and monitors utilized in the operating room. (Required proficiency)
  • Familiarity with Anesthesia equipment and supplies (Required proficiency)
  • Good interpersonal skills (Required proficiency)
  • communication skills (Required proficiency)
  • Detail oriented (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to walk, lifting of 30 lb. monitors, and moving of heavy anesthesia machines. (Required proficiency)
