Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Substitute Custodian Date Posted: 11/15/2024 Location: District Wide Date Available: Immediately after filled Closing Date: Open Until Filled DESCRIPTION: The substitute custodian reports directly to the Head Custodian or Shift Leader. A substitute custodian performs a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and maintaining a building and it's outside property. A substitute custodian's work may also include minor maintenance work, the setting up and taking down of tables and chairs, and the operation of motorized machines and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a basic knowledge of the principles of cleaning, painting and minor maintenance work, and be able to operate lawn mowers, snow blowers, buffing machines, small hand tools and other custodial equipment. Applicants must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds, and be able to perform a variety of tasks that require pushing, pulling and bending. Applicants must be able to spend 90% of the work day walking and standing. Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate's Degree, or other certificates or licenses related to custodial/building maintenance.
