NATURE OF POSITION : The Phlebotomist/Radiographer performs X-rays, phlebotomy, and assists in other laboratory duties. CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Laboratory Services MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + High school graduateor equivalent + Training appropriate for the tests beingadministered RESPONSIBILITIES: + Performs venipuncture on adults andpediatrics + Performs capillary (finger, toe, heal) blood collection on adults andpediatrics + Processes specimens according to test specifications + Records workload and test results according to established lab protocols + Processespapsmear results and keeps the tickler file forfollow-up + Performs waived and approved testing using appropriate equipment andmaterials + Performs and appropriately documents quality control procedures, instrument checks and maintenancereports + Consults with supervisor when controls are out of range, test results are abnormal, or when difficulties are encountered in testingprocedure + Maintains good working relationships with other employees and observes patientconfidentiality + Protects the confidentiality of patients and their records at all times by complying with the COFMC policies regarding patientconfidentiality + Performs all other duties as assigned Powered by JazzHR
