Job Summary:
The Accountant III is responsible for managing financial records, overseeing the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts. This role also involves leading a small team and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work. The Accountant III supports the company's financial integrity through accurate reporting and collaboration with internal teams.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the month end close.
- Prepare and post month end close journal entries.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Reconcile weekly and monthly the feed invoiced with the feed recorded in production records.
- Reconcile dozens reported within the sales verification with dozens reported in production records.
- Maintain flock records and amortize value accordingly.
- Ensure SOPs are maintained for positions within scope of supervision
- Maintain records of business transactions and product inventories
- Lead, motivate, and coach a team of direct reports
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Required Skills: Proficiency in English; bilingual candidates are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for long period of time. General climate-controlled office environment. Will be required to visit all operations as requested. Temperature at work sites will vary depending upon season and location. Exposure to various elements inherent with Agriculture production.
