The People & Culture Coordinator will help foster a culture of inclusion and professional growth that will advance the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Major Tasks and Responsibilities: Serve as a human resources professional within the Museum, providing support in all areas of People & Culture. Facilitates the Museum’s recruitment and onboarding efforts, including job postings, applicant review, interviews, selection, and reference checks. Coordinates new hire orientation and other onboarding activities. Supports departmental initiatives such as staff meetings, meet-n-greets, trainings, team-building events, and connectivity-enhancing activities including employee and volunteer recognition, mixers, and community-initiatives. Ensures that job descriptions are accurate and up-to-date. Supports HRIS (AmCheck), including data entry, issue resolution, time clock, and employee inquiries. Maintains employee files. Maintains and updates filing system for the People & Culture department, including personnel, medical, and vendor files. Maintains knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations that affect the workforce. Responds to employment verification requests. Administers responses to unemployment insurance claims. Other duties as assigned. Experience / Qualifications / Requirements: A minimum of two years of progressive responsibility in an office environment is required with an emphasis on human resources field being preferred. Prior experience in a cultural or entertainment attraction is desired. Experience recruiting non-exempt staff, including part-time employees, is preferred. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills. Proven ability to engage individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Exceptional judgment and trustworthiness. High integrity and ethical character. Superior attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, including business writing and public speaking. High competence with traditional office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF). Ability to work independently, eagerness to solve problems, and a commitment to accepting responsibility. Occasional weekend and evening availability is required. Passion for creating a world-class museum that is unrivaled in content and recognized for an outstanding guest experience. Enthusiasm for working in a developing organization where change is frequent, structure is evolving, flexibility, teamwork, and good humor are necessities.
