About the Team:The Content Operations & Engineering team is a close knit, dedicated group of professionals with a passion for digital content strategy, management, and design. We empower internal content creators to craft and deliver effective content consistently and at scale, with the belief that great digital products rely on great content experiences. We are a team of 7 plus members who work with cross-functional product teams to deliver high quality digital products and services.

About the Opportunity:As a Content Engineer you'll be at the forefront of content architecture, strategy and execution for digital solutions across our product portfolio. You'll be a key member of cross-functional teams, bridging the gaps between design, content and engineering. You'll work with product owners, UX/UI designers, engineers and content strategists. Your mission? To architect models making our content more flexible, reusable and maintainable, and improving its presentation and structure. You'll improve the authoring experience in our Drupal CMS by defining UI and structural improvements.

Profile:

We need candidates with at least 3 years of experience including strong content structure, content models and implementation guides, and content process and workflow experience. We have previously seen resumes leaning heavily towards content developers/writers or web producers, but we need to see "content models and template work" and CMS experience, preferably in Drupal. Familiarity with structured data (JSON and XML) is a plus.

In this role, you will:Content and Metadata Modeling (50%)

Develop and refine structured content and metadata models in the form of authoring templates, implementation specs, to enable delivery or evolution of new features and enhance content flexibility and reusability.Map the components of structured content and metadata throughout the delivery pipeline, ensuring alignment and data integrity from content creation to feature development to end user interaction.

Content Management and Workflow (25%)

Contribute to the development of workflows and processes for creating and maintaining contentBe the voice of the content creator at Client, ensuring that content workflows, lifecycles, and supporting tools are sustainableEstablish governance practices to maintain content quality and consistency.

Content Strategy and Design (25%)

Synthesize user needs and business requirements to contribute to a clear, scalable strategy for deploying information in multiple formats across our digital productsCreate strategies for reusing content across different channels and contexts.Design, test, and implement effective and innovative content-driven digital experiences in our products, in collaboration with UX/UI design and researchDetermine when and how to leverage the use of structured content, and implement content management solutions to support delivery of key information to our users

Required Skills:

2-3 years' experience designing content or data models and workflows for digital productsExperience with Drupal or a similar CMS, beyond just creating and editing content. Modifying/creating content types, understanding fields and relationships, familiarity with headless/decoupled usageExcellent problem-solving skills, including using data to inform recommendationsStrong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability break down complex concepts for a non-technical audience using data, words, and visualizationsStrong negotiation skills and a willingness to collaborate and find middle groundself-starter mentality-you enjoy getting into the weeds, untangling complex ecosystems and learning new technologiesProven ability to build relationships and influence others to actionPassion for supporting educational and career opportunities for millions of students
