The Chemours Corpus Christi facility located in Ingleside, Texas has openings for several Maintenance Technician positions available. This is a key role within the Company and the Operations function. This position will report to a Maintenance First Line Supervisor. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment within manufacturer's specification using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments. Engage in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machines, equipment, and instruments. Complete Lock, Tag, and Try (LTT) procedure on machines to assure equipment is inoperable and safe to work on. Repairs, overhauls, aligns, troubleshoots rotating equipment (i.e. pumps, compressors, fans etc.) and stationary equipment (i.e. piping (metallic/nonmetallic) Conducts Precision Measurement, Light Rigging, and Cutting & Heating Perform Bolt and flange work as needed Participates in maintenance work schedule outlook, including upcoming major equipment shutdown/overhauls. Understands the proper use of each test instrument to avoid damage to the equipment Responsible for housekeeping in areas Other general maintenance work which will be assigned as business needs necessitate. Normal working hours are 6:00a 4:30p Monday through Thursday. Off-shift, turnaround, and overtime including nights and weekends is sometimes required to meet business needs. Qualifications In order to be qualified for this role, you are required to have the following: Two years of college (any technical major) or two years industrial experience Successful completion of a pre-employment aptitude test Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, E-mail) Ability to climb ladders and stairs Ability to single-lift 30lbs Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (including respirator, hearing protection, fall protection harness, acid suit) Willing and able to work overtime as needed Preferred skills and abilities: Good written and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment Demonstrated ability to work as a self-managed individual Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions Successful applicants will be required to take an online pre-employment test, participate in pre-employment selection process and interviews. The pre-hiring process will include a drug screening along with a security background check.
