Rheumatologist to join a multi-office dermatology practice. Responsibilities: Treating rheumatic conditions such as arthritis, back pain, and osteoporosis. Studying symptoms and evaluating effects on the immune system. Designing tailored treatment plans. Assessing joint-related conditions. Evaluating lab results and other advanced tests. Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests. Performing physical examinations and imaging scans. Prescribing medications and physical therapy. Providing counseling and education to patients. Performing initial evaluation of patient condition, completing patient assessments, developing and documenting treatment plans, and collaborating with primary care physicians. Attending weekly patient care conferences and participating in meetings and conferences. Applying medical knowledge to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans. Training, supervising, and evaluating all staff members. Maintaining and updating medical records and ensuring compliance with regulations. Obtaining medical authorizations and referrals for procedures, tests, and informal conferences when appropriate. Overseeing facility compliance with all government health and safety regulations. Providing continuous learning opportunities for students, residents, fellows, and other providers. Attending professional meetings and engaging in continuous medical education. Meeting regularly with staff to discuss workflow, operational problems, and patient care issues. Managing hospital regulatory compliance. Developing and maintaining professional relationships in the community. Establishing and utilizing a patient caseload within established guidelines, including performing physical examinations, patient history, and diagnostic and treatment procedures. Practicing medicine and surgery within the scope of physician licensure. Establishing collaborative relationships with patients, fellow physicians, and staff. Maintaining confidentiality with patients, fellow physicians, and staff. Participating in continuing medical education to remain current with evidence-based medicine standards. Continuing self-assessment and improvement. Meeting professional requirements relating to continuing education, performance appraisal, and regulatory compliance. Understanding the scope of professional licensure. Meeting professional and contractual obligations. Meeting all quality, safety, and other standards.
