My client, a privately held owner and manager of commercial real estate, is hiring a Controller. This company has been in business for many years and has a solid reputation. They have a mix of single tenant and multi-tenant properties. This is a one-person show and is responsible for all daily accounting. 40-hour work week. Located in Midtown Nashville with onsite parking. Base salary is $85,000 to $125,000 depending on experience. YARDI and CAM experience required. Permanent direct hire. Great benefits and 401k match.

Overview of the Controller Role:

  • Responsible for budgets, financial reporting, and month end close.
  • Enter and maintain lease information.
  • Track variance reports for tenant income.
  • Deposit and/or post all check and ach payments promptly and accurately.
  • Provide accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Enter all charges including recurring monthly items.
  • Send out monthly statements and rent invoices to tenants.
  • Follow up with tenant accounting related inquiries.
  • Perform CAM Reconciliations including charges and invoicing.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with Monthly and Annual reports and property tax updates.
  • Record mortgage loans, track principal balances and update spreadsheet.
  • Calculate monthly sales tax amounts.

Qualifications of the Controller:

  • Property/Real Estate accounting experience
  • Yardi experience required.
