POSITION OVERVIEW
SteerBridge seeks an

Electrical Engineer (CM-EE)

to provide Construction Management Services supporting infrastructure upgrades across Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and associated CBOCs.

The

CM-EE

will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to the administration of construction, design/build, engineering, and facilities management for complex-construction projects. Services will include, but not limited to, pre-design phase services, design phase services, procurement phase services, construction services, claims services, administration services, and technical specialty services.

REQUIRED

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be eligible and able to pass a federal background check, as well as complete the necessary processes to receive a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.

Must provide a minimum of three (3) projects of the scale and difficulty of this project and scope of work in which he/she held a similar position.

EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
The CM-EE shall hold a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school of higher education. It is required that the individual have a minimum of 6 years of experience in both design and construction.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each in relation to requirements of the project.

Must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.

Possess the knowledge of construction contract documents including front end and technical specifications and drawings to readily understand and assess project requirements.

Must have the skillset and working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling to lead to the projects success.

Must possess the skillset and competency to supervise and manage personnel of diverse skillsets.

Must have the ability to proactively notify the Government of any violations and/or potential impacts of any aspect of risks involved in the project and assist in preparing and updating a risk management plan.

Must have the capability of reviewing, preparing, and making professional recommendations on scope of work documents, submittals, and proposed changes.

Must have the capability of determining the value of acceptable work in place.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the engineering analysis, development, design of and the preparation of complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.

Provides technical oversight and evaluation concerning all engineering disciplines as they pertain to all project work.

Independently responsible and accountable for determining the action necessary in the development and completion of design projects, coordination of a project staff which may include architects, engineers, engineering technicians, draftsmen, and clerk/typists and review of the final contract documents.

Surveys existing job conditions and confers with requesting medical center personnel to determine exact scope of project, phasing, impact on other medical center services and other specific design requirements.

Determines how project(s) will impact medical center based on results of a risk assessment that could have a severe impact on patient care.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS

Candidates must bring demonstrated experience in:

Electrical Engineering Knowledge:

Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and installations, including power distribution, lighting, HVAC systems, fire alarm systems, and renewable energy systems.

Construction Management

: Ability to manage and oversee all aspects of electrical construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Project Management:

Proficiency in project management principles and practices, including project planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling, to ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.

Building Codes and Standards:

Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and International Building Code (IBC), to ensure compliance and regulatory approval.

Design and Blueprint Reading:

Ability to interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure accurate implementation of electrical designs and plans.

Quality Control and Assurance:

Skill in implementing quality control measures and performing inspections to ensure electrical work meets design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Construction Safety:

Understanding of electrical safety practices, regulations, and protocols to identify and mitigate electrical hazards and ensure a safe working environment for construction personnel.

Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with project teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory authorities, including preparing reports and documentation.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify and resolve electrical-related issues, challenges, and conflicts in a timely and efficient manner to keep projects on track and within budget.

Team Leadership:

Leadership skills to lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including electrical engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and technicians, to achieve project goals and objectives.

Budget and Cost Management:

Proficiency in managing project budgets, tracking costs, and controlling expenses related to electrical work to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.

Time Management:

Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards and client expectations.

Contract Management:

Knowledge of contract administration, including negotiating and managing contracts with electrical contractors, suppliers, and vendors, to ensure compliance with project requirements and terms.

Regulatory Compliance:

Understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to electrical construction projects, including electrical codes, permits, and inspections.

COMPENSATION
Starting from $105,000.00.
