Structural Steel Erection - Estimator

GPAC is seeking a Structural Steel Erection/Construction Estimator. This is a full-time, direct-hire position.

Duties:

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for steel erection projects.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to generate comprehensive bids and proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and ensure competitive bids.
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, including material costs, labor expenses, and overhead.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to steel erection and construction estimating.
  • Contribute to the development of project schedules and timelines by providing timely and accurate estimates.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, mathematical proficiency, and problem-solving skills in all aspects of the estimating process.
  • Prioritize workload to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the estimating process.

Requirements:

  • At minimum, 2 years of steel erection/construction estimating or take-offs
  • General knowledge of steel construction processes and phases
  • Familiarity with AISC Specifications and building codes
  • Great communication and organization skills
  • Must be a team player
