Job Title: Senior Estimator - Excavating Specialist

Location: East Earl, PA

We are looking for a Senior Estimator with a strong background in excavating to join our client's dynamic team.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a focus on excavating projects to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of excavation projects. This role requires a deep understanding of excavation processes, cost structures, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for excavation projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates are comprehensive and accurate.
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities associated with project estimates.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and best practices.
  • Manage multiple estimates simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Present and explain estimates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Continuously improve estimating processes and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in estimating, with at least 5 years specifically in excavating projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully estimating large-scale excavation projects.
  • Strong understanding of excavation techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator, LEED AP).
  • Experience with both public and private sector projects.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations affecting excavation work.
