Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for a Dosimetrist to work in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful health care organization.
Scope:
In collaboration with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop, generate, and evaluate treatment plans using computer software and manual calculations based on prescribed target region and avoidance dose criteria. The Dosimetrist may use a wide variety of patient imaging modalities registered to the planning images, which assists in the identification of physician delineated target structures and critical structures to be avoided. Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently creates radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software and various imaging modalities.
- Interprets and delineates anatomy and anatomical positioning on various imaging modalities.
- Performs or assists in the planning of the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices.
- Performs or assists in the planning of the production of moulds, casts, and other immobilization devices.
- Accurately documents treatment planning and quality assurance tasks.
- Accurately codes for technical treatment planning and quality assurance tasks
- Performs general computerized tasks, such as word processing, using spreadsheets, moving, and altering files and directories.
- Provides physics and technical support to the Medical Physicist, in radiation protection, qualitative machine calibrations, and quality assurance of the radiation oncology equipment.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in medical dosimetry or related field required.
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
- A current and valid certification as a qualified medical dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
- At least one (1) year of experience with Eclipse and ARIA
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Consideration will be made for non-certified, board eligible candidates.
