Learn more about our culture here.Job DescriptionAs a Plant Quality Engineer at our Butler, Indiana Therma-Tru plant location, you will have the wonderful opportunity to join a dynamic team of dedicated quality engineers in coordinating resources to best support Manufacturing Operations across the plant. You will lead quality and cost improvement projects, work with all facets of the value stream, from vendor to end customer, to drive quality improvements, and support new product launches. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering, (5+) years in quality engineering experience in a manufacturing setting and demonstrate a proven & successful track record identifying, controlling, and preventing product and process non-conformances. Position location - This will be on site 5 days per week at our Therma-Tru Butler, IN facility. This position is not currently available for sponsorship. What you will be doing:Coach and Develop Quality Technicians, Monitors, Analysts, and Group LeadsSupport plant metricsLead Problem Solving for Quality issues in your assigned area including containment, root cause, and corrective/preventive actionsAccountable for assigned Quality improvement (PDCA / WAR teams / Projects)Lead improvement projects leveraging Six Sigma methodologiesUtilize 7 Habits discipline and methodologiesLead and support daily communications with Operations Huddle Board meetingsTimely communications to all appropriate functionsImplement permanent corrective actions to eliminate process and product defectsUnderstand and translate the Voice of the Customer, Voice of Process, and Voice of Business into actionable items to improve manufacturing performanceIdentify gaps between current processes and standardized work, Process FMEA and Control PlansSupport cross-functional teams to resolve quality problems with customers, purchasing, supplier quality, design engineering, product management, process engineering, and manufacturing operationsParticipate in incident investigations and resolutionsImmediately address any potential safety or ergonomic issues with a "safety first" attitudeActively participate in safety programsQualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Quality or Engineering degreeAt least 5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; supervisory experience preferredProven successful track record identifying, controlling, and preventing product and process non-conformancesAbility to lead and influence others who are not under your direct supervision.Experience in a manufacturing environmentRoot Cause Analysis, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plan experienceLean Manufacturing experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a cross-functional team environment.Strong ability to be or become a Change Agent, helping our teams meet future requirementsConfidently and professionally provide coaching to Quality Associates, holding self and team members accountable for achieving aggressive goals and while adhering to the TT PAR guidelinesAn ASQ Certification is preferred but not required Physical Demands of performing the duties of this job include, but are not limited to:Occasionally lifting/handling up to
