We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a versatile role covering Telemetry, MedSurg, and Cardiac units. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in these areas and be flexible to assist in other departments as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to Telemetry, MedSurg, and Cardiac patients, adapting to varying patient needs.
- Assess and address patient and family education needs using appropriate modalities.
- Prioritize patient safety by implementing preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints) and adhering to restraint policies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of Telemetry/MedSurg equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and repair.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and utilize standard precautions consistently.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation of patient status, interventions, and responses during the shift.
- Process physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, completing 24-hour checks if applicable.
- Deliver detailed and accurate shift change reports to incoming staff.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values promptly to physicians, as per policy.
- Monitor, restock, and maintain emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support hospital operations.
- Active ME RN License (Required).
- Experience in Telemetry, MedSurg, and Cardiac care (Required).
- Competency in assessing patient safety, using equipment safely, and infection control measures.
- Strong documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to respond efficiently in high-pressure situations and adapt to different departments.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and equipment manuals.
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
