About the Role InStride Health is seeking a self-starter and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to be the foundation of the day-to-day transactional financial operations and play a key role in the monthly accounting processes and internal reporting needs. The position manages transactions on the accrual basis for multi-entity (MSO/PC) general ledgers. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller. Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Prepare, enter, and organize supporting information for journal entries, including monthly revenue entry and payroll entries. Maintain prepaid and accrued expense schedules. Maintain fixed assets listing according to capitalization policies, and record monthly depreciation. Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for general ledger accounts. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Record and ensure all bank transactions are entered or imported. Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Review and process employee expense reimbursements. Participate in the budget preparation process. Assist with federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements. Collaborate on the development of standard accounting procedures and policies. Prepare transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations. Assist with audit preparation and coordination. Provide and prepare ad hoc reporting upon request to provide financial insights to support business growth and operational excellence. What You Need to Succeed in the Role 3-5+ years staff accountant or related experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA or CPA candidate preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual basis accounting Experience in the healthcare or service industry Experience with preparing for annual financial statement audits Knowledge of QuickBooks and other ERP systems (Sage Intacct, NetSuite) Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently and professionally in a fast-paced environment; ability to be flexible Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a manner that inspires confidence and trust Ability to prepare and maintain a distraction-reduced home working environment with an internet connection capable of maintaining clear and consistent audio/video communication.
