Job Description: As a Lab Tech Engineer at Zenex Partners, you will be an integral part of our Infrastructure team, contributing to the building, maintenance, and enhancement of laboratory infrastructure supporting the validation activities of a GPU Software organization. Specifically, you will focus on the development of world-class graphics drivers targeting the Samsung mobile GPU architecture. Operating in a dynamic lab environment with numerous devices under test, connected to multiple server hosts, and configured for continuous test automation and remote debug activities, you will play a hands-on role requiring expertise in interfacing with embedded systems, Linux system administration, and the ability to utilize soldering skills for custom electronics module construction. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build and deploy custom electronics pods, with soldering skills as a plus
  • Monitor the health and uptime of test devices in the automation farm
  • Extend Bash and Python scripts essential for engineers' daily activities
  • Deploy and maintain developer Linux workstations
  • Troubleshoot PC hardware and Linux-based issues
  • Address network-related problems including cabling, MAC addressing, IP addressing, firewall, and proxy issues
  • Package devices for shipment to other sites

Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in writing and updating scripts
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with remote teammates across Pacific and Central time zones
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Onsite presence in Austin, TX, five days a week
  • Experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu 18.04+)
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, CFEngine, Puppet, Chef)
  • Proficiency in scripting with Bash and Python
  • Soldering skills
