Transportation Analyst

Location: Fishers, IN, US

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for providing analyses and insight in managing transportation (and warehouse) functions and relationships by developing and producing weekly and monthly performance metrics for use in managing Ardaghs business, identifying trends, formulating and presenting cost savings opportunities to Transportation Manager and Director, providing operational and analytical support to carriers, (warehouses), plants and other departments as needed, to TMS and other systems used to manage Transportation service and spend, tracking and tracing shipments as required and backing up the CLT coordinators in the event of vacations, business trips, etc. Interact with various departments at Metal Beverage in Chicago and be the on-site Logistics resources to liaise with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales, Customers, Plants, Warehouses regarding issues, rate requests, dunnage issues for both Ardagh and non-Ardagh dunnage, handle issues for Metal Beverage with regards to international shipping, customs, LTL and air freight shipments, obtain rate quotes from vendors, provide rate quotes for planning and sales analyses and working closely with the CLT team in Fishers on these issues and similar issues affecting any of the 3 BUs. This position is required to provide customer service to internal and external customer(s) as needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (on call).

**Responsibilities**

* Analysis of transportation performance, spend, developing other meaningful KPIs, utilizing systems to enhance these requirements, researching systems for best in class tools applicable to Ardagh, identifying cost savings and/or efficiency improvements, drop trailer programs, shuttle activity between plants and warehouses

* Freight Payables reviewing manual invoices for Metal Beverage, approving and sending to Manager or Director for payment authorization, interacting with Williams & Associates for freight payables related to Glass and Metal Packaging BUs, reviewing and approving accessorial charges, working with AP on vendor inquiries related to freight payment

* Customer Service - Communicate with internal and external customers regarding production need dates, inventory availability, shipment lead time, and load status

* Relationship Building Create, build, and maintain good relationships with CACs, CSRs, CLTs, Planning, Plants, Warehouse and Carrier Sales reps and AP personnel

* On-Call Availability Provide service updates and route freight as needed after hours and on weekends

**Minimum Qualifications**

* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

* Minimum of 3-5 years of logistics and transportation experience

* Minimum of 1-2 years of analytical experience

* Knowledge of various transportation management systems

* Excellent communication and customer service skills

* Computer skills: MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

* SAP (preferred)
