Basic principle of nutrition, therapeutic diets, food safety and sanitation. Record keeping, interviewing, and counseling techniques. Nutrimental needs of all ages. The ability to incorporate knowledge of nutrition and metabolism into individualized nutrition care plan. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to nutritional care in a health institution. Medical terminology and clinical nutrition terminology. Relevant computer skills and generation of reports. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with patients, family, and staff. During the winter months, the hospital hosts a weekly indoor farmers market with goods from 20 different vendors from within an 80-mile radius. Marshall is home to one of the nation's largest Historic Landmark Districts, including the world-famous "Honolulu House". The quaint downtown offers specialty stores and antique shops designed for the selective shopper.
