Lummus is currently looking for an experienced and talented Chief Process Planning Engineer to join our Process Planning & Development Group in Lummus’ Refining & Gas Processing business unit. The primary role is performing competing configuration planning studies for global clients seeking to improve their competitive and market position.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Experience in conducting medium to long-term optimization planning studies with minimal supervision.
Proven track record of creating value-driven opportunities for global clients to enhance overall profitability in alignment with the clients’ strategic goals.
Responsible for the effective completion of facilities planning studies, including conceptual engineering, technology evaluation, and detailed investment economic analysis.
Experienced in analyzing market study data and delivering investment strategies to Clients.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of In-House Software tools that includes LP configuration models, properties data systems, capital estimator tools and investment economic models to support Process Planning Group.
Provide Lummus Management with internal technology evaluations to analyze new developments affecting the company’s proprietary positions, emerging technologies, and potential process acquisitions.
Acts as liaison between Lummus Sales and Technology experts concerning commercial developments, trends for sales proposals, and licensing activities.
Plan organizational resources required for client contacts, proposals, and study work.
Develop feasibility study scope of work documentation as needed.
Develop technical proposals for global opportunities as required.
Mentor less experienced process planning professionals.
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Chemical Engineering required.
Minimum of 20 years of professional experience in downstream process planning, with a strong track record of technical and economic evaluations for major chemicals and refining feasibility studies.
Minimum of 20 years LP modeling with any of the approved industry tools (PIMS, Haverly System (GRTMPS, RPMS), etc)
Experience in developing economic and financial models to support study outcomes to facilitate clients decisions.
Detailed knowledge of industry technologies to include crude processing, gas processing, NGL, refinery and petrochemical processing units.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of the complex analysis of customer requirements in the hydrocarbon processing field.
Intimate knowledge of processes, economics, and operations of Lummus suite of technologies to carry out conceptual planning studies.
Strong understanding of the market and commercial trends.
