Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Duties Include:
  • Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access
  • Interpretation of geotechnical data for analysis of ground improvement solutions appropriate to the project
  • Design of minor roadways and access drives, building sites, parking lot layout, and pedestrian access
  • Design of storm water management, drinking water supply, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material impact on design
  • Preparation of project narratives and written analyses of proposed design solutions
  • Estimation of construction costs, review of construction project submittals and progress inspections
Desirable attributes:
  • Demonstrate ability to self-learn diverse topics over the breath of civil engineering
  • Interest or experience in environmental engineering
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D or similar software experience
  • Works effectively within team environments
  • Driven, focused, and manages time well
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Currently living in Alaska
  • Construction industry related work experience
