Job Description:
The Family Medicine Supervisor providers daily supervision, leadership, and strategic direction for Family Medicine, Family Medicine Mercy, WB Internal Medicine/ Diabetes Education, and WB Clinic Float Pool functions across Great River Health.
In collaboration with the Family Medicine Manager, the Supervisor oversees nonclinical areas, including scheduling, prior authorizations, registration, check-in of INR, Lab, and remote monitoring patients, point-of-service collections, referrals for financial counseling and/or assistance as appropriate, and customer service for patients arriving to registration access points. This position also handles patient complaints as a first line, if needed they will escalate complaints to manager. This position also leads all HBC billing fix monitoring, education, and follow up with staff.
The Supervisor coordinates any staffing shortages as they arise. The Supervisor works collaboratively with the Family Medicine leadership team to provide effective and patient friendly services through the direction and support of staff. This position works to appropriately integrate operations, facilitate best practices, achieve efficiencies, and align with GRH strategic plan while maintaining quality and customer service standards and ensuring the department is operating under GRH policies and procedures, and applicable State and Federal laws and
regulations. This position serves as an expert within the revenue cycle for registration and scheduling practices and the performance of the clinics' functions and provides a bridge between clinical and revenue cycle areas to support quality
patient care and revenue cycle objectives.
Qualifications:
Education
- Associate degree in Business, Finance or Healthcare related field, preferred.
- Maintains current and active status on all required training and education as outlined by corporate policy.
- Current valid driver's license.
- Typing skills 55 WPM
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience using Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Customer service experience.
- Patient Access leadership experience, preferred.
