Private Client Advisor

Main Street Research is a privately held, registered investment advisor serving a select group of individuals and institutions since 1993. We are looking for someone who likes to be a part of a team that is working toward a common goal. Compensation and benefits are very competitive. We are a fast-growing RIA seeking an investment and financial planning professional with knowledge of financial markets and excellent communication skills. The right candidate is interested in client communication, institutional relationships, and financial markets. This multi-faceted role includes everything from creating in-depth financial plans to communicating directly with clients about our investment strategy. Financial planning experience along with being a CFP Certificant is required for this role to cultivate long lasting client relationships. Organization and writing skills are essential for client calls and emails for the high touch service we provide for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent client service and create deep relationships with individual high net worth clients
• Maintain an extremely high level of client retention and service
• Support all assigned prospective, current clients and their requests, needs for analysis, and deliverables including portfolio reviews and personalized financial plans
• Provide support to the Chief Investment Officer and Investment Team to communicate investment strategies to clients and business partners
• Assist business development team in sharing firm differentiators and closing business on an as needed basis
• Maintain an awareness and understanding of competitors and influencers in the marketplace
• Implement quarterly goals of client outreach and communication
• Create a personal brand on social media (e.g. LinkedIn)
• Initiate and pursue ideas furthering our key results, increased efficiency, and improved client experience
• Support one-off projects for Investment & Planning Team members
• Be intellectually dynamic and want to learn

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience as an Investment Advisor Representative
• CFP Certificant
• A demonstrated track record of client service in the investing and/or wealth management industry
• Continuously exhibits personal integrity and professional initiative
• Reliable, follows through on commitments, self-starter when it comes to new challenges
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to manage and prioritize tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Collaborative and able to work effectively with others
• Flexible team player who is highly adaptable to change and open to new ideas

The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
