HIDTA-Analyst Salary:46,504.00

The Unified Narcotics Intelligence Task Force (UNIT) is a multi-agency, joint intelligence task force that provides near real-time, tactical intelligence support for multiple initiatives and task forces within the southern area of Texas. The UNIT provides case support for the South Texas HIDTA area of responsibility, and is responsible for collecting, evaluating, collating, analyzing and disseminating law enforcement information and intelligence.

Educational Requirements:

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. (College degree preferred)

Requisite Skills:

Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Communicate efficiently and effectively both in writing and via oral presentations.

Analyze data from various sources and compile a concise and accurate summary of the data.

Work individually to achieve independent goals and as part of a team, collaborating with co-workers to successfully complete larger projects.

Distill and organize large amounts of data and present it clearly to investigators in a chart, timeline, or report.

Familiarity with computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Analyst Responsibilities:

Provide analytical case support to law enforcement agencies within the STX HIDTA AOR

Assist in the development of an annual drug threat assessment.

Deconflict subjects and events by submitting them to STX HIDTA's deconfliction system.

Provide investigative case support to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Participate in intelligence sharing meetings with other HIDTA intelligence initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Attend any and all training seminars as requested.

Be available to work after hours and weekends as needed.

This is not a Civil Service covered position.
