Talascend is currently seeking a Program Ergonomist for an opportunity in Warren, MI OVERVIEW: Responsible for the identification and resolution of ergonomic issues which will drive the reduction of injuries and manufacturing inefficiencies on client's next generation of vehicles including Autonomous and Semi-autonomous vehicles, industry leading SUVs and Trucks RESPONSIBILITIES: The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be critical to your success. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as product design and manufacturing, as well as outside suppliers and UAW representatives. Act as the subject matter expert in the field of ergonomics, supporting launch and pre-production manufacturing ergonomic activities for New & Major vehicle programs Ensure manufacturing ergonomics requirements are implemented and met on all new vehicle programs. Conduct Ergonomic risk analysis of new product designs and establish threshold limit vales. Work collaboratively with product designers, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering and assembly plant personnel, including UAW and non-UAW. Manage all ergonomic issues to closure and coordinate follow-up through appropriate engineering team. Use 3D Virtual Digital Human Model (DHM) Simulations to determine acceptable manufacturing ergonomic parameters for new vehicle product assembly. Support manufacturing operations ergonomics by bringing current plant ergonomics issues to the appropriate design and manufacturing engineers for resolution in order to design out similar ergonomic concerns on future programs. Support the development and completion of the annual Ergonomic Business Plan Deployment (BPD) goals and objectives. Support ergonomics initiatives/projects as needed. Provide New Program Ergonomic issue status and updates to New Vehicle Program and Plant leadership. Provide timely written reports and updates on specific ergonomics projects QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with course work in ergonomics or degree in ergonomics, human kinetics or related ergonomics degree, or industrial management (Required). 1 to 2 years of industrial experience including internships and co-op work (Required). 1-year minimum proficiency with ergonomics analytical tools in manufacturing/industry/course work Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and execute manufacturing and/or ergonomic manufacturing projects High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills-ability to interact with all levels of the organization. High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to work well with multiple customers at the same time Demonstrated ability to work with the UAW and other unions Ability to travel Automotive experience AutoCAD and CAD/UG working with 3-Dimensional Human Modeling Simulation (JACK or Process Simulate) (Preferred).
