SQL BI Developer

Our client is seeking a SQL BI Developer to join their Information Technology department. The initial project will be mostly SQL stored procedures and SSRS development. Future projects will include SSIS, SSAS, Power BI.

Responsibilities:

New development and support of existing SQL stored procedures, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and ETL jobs (SSIS).

Work with end users, mid and senior level management, project managers and IT professionals.

Review, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain reporting to support current business initiatives.

Debug and optimize complex SQL stored procedures/queries, SSRS, and SSIS.

Maintain the current data warehouse environment. Maintenance includes the creation modification, and deletion of data warehouse database objects and ETL packages/jobs, along with troubleshooting complex data issues.

Manage and maintain production report catalog including automating manual reports as well as improvements to existing reports.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience in designing, building, testing, and deploying enterprise reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.

Must have experience documenting requirements and facilitating user sign-off and approvals.

Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or higher), Management Studio, SSRS, and SSIS.

Prior SQL (T-SQL) coding required.

Some experience with troubleshooting and performance tuning on MS SQL Server, data integrity, data retention, data analysis and improving SQL code performance efficiency.

Accountable for meeting all assigned/agreed upon target dates for projects and individual tasks.

Ability to act as an internal consultant, working closely with the user community and fellow IT staff to successfully architect, design, model, implement, test, and maintain databases and related applications.

Moderate-to-strong knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Information Services (SSIS), and SQL stored procedures/queries.

Capable of building and unit testing reports per functional designs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical and decision-making skills.

Ambitious self-learner with strong interpersonal skills and a strong teamwork and customer support focus.

Ability to handle numerous and conflicting priorities in a professional manner.
