Summary

Drives a tractor-trailer and loads and unloads truck.

Essential Functions
  1. Loads and unloads tanks from any inbound or outbound freight as needed.
  2. Loads and services shipments properly and safely.
  3. Inspects all loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
  4. Reads, reviews, and completes DOT permits, bill of ladings (BOL), and any other paperwork associated with the load.
  5. Records arrival and offload times on all deliveries.
  6. Reports any incidents, no matter how minor, to the supervisor immediately.
  7. Maintains trucks, trailers, and all equipment used to perform job duties and ensures all equipment is in good working order.
  8. Assures that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn on customer locations at all times and when required while at SteelMation.
  9. Assists personnel in all yard duties when waiting for loads.
  10. Arrive at destinations on schedule.
  11. Safely performs all job duties in a timely manner.
  12. Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays.
  13. Conduct pre-trip inspections with accuracy.
  14. Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date.
  15. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required:
  1. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  2. At least one year of experience.
  3. Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and vendors.
  4. Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as workload permits and directed by supervisor.
  5. Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find delivery locations.
  6. Ability to meet consistent attendance.
